Some last a half. Or a week. Some last the better part of a month. Talor Battle has been frequently familiar with long-range shooting slumps since he launched his Penn State career two years ago.
But it usually doesn’t take the Nittany Lions’ junior guard long to go from ice-cold to scalding.
Battle busted another slump Monday, draining five second-half 3-pointers on his way to a 28-point half and a 32-point game, both career bests, in Penn State’s 69-66 win at Virginia.
“Once I hit a couple, I felt I couldn’t miss,” Battle said. “It was that confidence I’d been waiting for all season.”
