Doss star Brooks signs with Penn State:
“Doss High School basketball player Jeff Brooks Jr., who became a hot recruit during an impressive summer, now can tell the college coaches to leave him alone.
“During a ceremony at the school Wednesday, the 6-foot-8 Brooks signed a National Letter of Intent with Penn State University.
“‘I like their style of play, and their coaches played a major deal into it,’ said Brooks, who chose the Nittany Lions over Arkansas. ‘They came to see me a lot and came to talk to me about my situation. I just think I picked a perfect situation for myself.’
“Brooks averaged just 11 points and eight rebounds as a junior but impressed coaches at several camps over the summer. He won four MVP trophies at the Blue Chip Camp at Georgetown College and was named the MVP of the Five-Star Camp in Philadelphia. He also had good showings at camps in Nevada, California and South Carolina….”
