“UNIVERSITY PARK — Ed DeChellis walked into shooting practice Tuesday and saw his players’ bags, packed and ready to go.

“‘They just want to go home like everybody else,’ Penn State’s men’s basketball coach said later. ‘They’ve had enough of me since Oct. 15, and they were looking forward to going home, but we had some business to take care of tonight.’

“Before the Nittany Lions embarked on their holiday break, they first disposed of New Hampshire in a rather businesslike fashion, 75-51, before a sparse crowd at the Bryce Jordan Center.

“Penn State improved to 6-3, its best start since the 2001 Sweet 16 season, by once again enjoying a sharp night behind the 3-point line. Geary Claxton, who led all scorers with 18 points, hit a career-high three 3-pointers and Ben Luber made 4-of-5, also a career-best. …”
