Paul Posluszny Selected A First Team Academic All-American
Lions’ 32nd Honoree Under Paterno
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa., December 1, 2005 – Junior linebacker Paul Posluszny has been selected a first team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America football player, Penn State’s 26th student-athlete to be so honored.
Members of CoSIDA, the College Sports Information Directors of America, selected Posluszny to the prestigious team. A pair of Nittany Lions – Nolan McCready and Posluszny – had been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Football Team. The All-District nod was the second of Posluszny’s career.
A native of Aliquippa, Pa., Posluszny is the 24th Nittany Lion under Coach Joe Paterno to earn first team Academic All-America honors. The Nittany Lions’ total of 34 Academic All-American football players ranks fourth among all Division I-A institutions.
