UNIVERSITY PARK \u2014 Ed DeChellis knows that strategy, effort and smart, heads-up play are all important on the basketball court.<\/p>\n

Just as long as the ball goes through the hoop.<\/p>\n

\u201cShooting covers a multitude of sins,\u201d Penn State\u2019s coach said Monday after an early second-half flurry led his Nittany Lions to an 80-61 defeat of Robert Morris in the Bryce Jordan Center.<\/p>\n

The Nittany Lions (2-0) shot 59 percent in the second half and 52 percent for the evening, getting double-figure scoring from three players \u2014 and Talor Battle wasn\u2019t one of them. The junior guard made only two of his nine fieldgoal attempts, finished with eight points and seven assists and happily watched the final 12 minutes from the bench as Penn State\u2019s star of the evening coolly directed the offense.<\/p>\n

Freshman point guard Tim Frazier, who missed his only field goal attempt in just eight minutes of action in Friday\u2019s win over Penn, scored a game-and career-high 19 points in 30 minutes Monday. Sophomore guard Chris Babb added 15 points on five 3-pointers and junior forward Jeff Brooks reached double figures for the second straight game with 12 points and five rebounds.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a great feeling that we\u2019re not just a one-man team,\u201d Babb said. \u201cEveryone else can step up and knock down shots.\u201d<\/p>\n
