Sophomore asks off PSU team for personal reasons<\/a>:<\/p>\n

STATE COLLEGE – Seven years ago, a true freshman point guard was forced into starting action for Penn State. He shot 1-for-6 at VMI in a painful Nittany Lion loss.<\/p>\n

He took the last shot of the game and missed it. But he wanted that shot. And it was obvious he wanted to be the leader.<\/p>\n

He ended up OK. His name was Joe Crispin.<\/p>\n

Last night, another true freshman was forced into the starting lineup for Penn State. He went 1-for-6.<\/p>\n

But that one was a three and it was drained. It also turned out to be perhaps the biggest shot of the game in a Nittany Lion home win, 73-64 over Lehigh.
