What I think is my best effort from the whole scrimmage.

I made it to the scrimmage , but not without some hustle that would've made DeChellis proud. I missed a lot because I had the kiddos but got a few good looks at the noobies. They are all players, but they're all freshmen. I'll try to post some detail later.......I think we'll be competitive, but I still think we're goingto take a step back.
Edwards is the oat game ready right now but I think JMarsh or Sasa will be best down the road. We'll see

I tried to focus on the new guys with the videos since we haven't seen much of them.
Some observations.
Talor looked great in the practice before the scrimmage. I barely remember him missing a shot there. In the scrimmage itself, he didn't do anything particularly special and in the three point shooting contest he put up a bunch of bricks. To me it looked like he was more concerned with practice than the hoopla (pun intended) that followed (as he should).
I really liked what I saw in Frazier. His speed reminded me a lot of Pringle and he obviously has a lot of ups. He did exhibit some of the tendencies that Talor had as a freshman of driving down low and getting trapped without having any place to go. Talor got over it quickly, I'm betting Frazier does to.
Sasa looked like he could knock down that mid range jumper at will. I was somewhat disappointed that he got blocked a couple of times under the basket. We aren't particularly known as a bunch of shot blockers and if our guys are rejecting Sasa's shots, I'm afraid a lot of others might also.
Edwards just looks like a Big Ten guard. He played the three during the scrimmage. I like the fact that he's left handed. That always seems to cause problems for opponents. I think he's going to have to learn to work a little off the ball to get open though. He didn't always seem to be in the offense (of course, this was only the second day of practice so that shouldn't be so surprising)
Jermaine Marshall surprised me a little. I was always a little unsure of him because he's played so little the last year but he didn't look at all out of place out there.
Andrew Jones looked to be the guy that's stepping up to try to fill the leadership role that Cornley had (e.g. he took the mike to thank the crowd for coming). He seemed very confident on the court and I'm looking for him to have a big season.
Babb was pulling the trigger often which leads me to believe that ED has given him the green light to launch anytime. With both Morrissey and Pringle gone, we're going to need someone whose a real threat behind the arc. Babb might be the guy. Look for lots more scoring out of him.

I made it just in time for the scrimmage. 322 was closed at Potter's Mills for some reason, so it took an hour to get from the top of Seven Mountains to Potters Mills.
To my surprise, though, parking in the paved areas was still very plentiful at noon.

Frazier will be fun to watch. He's certainly not going to be relied upon for outside scoring, but he'll cause some opposing guards some fits.

Lar where do you see Marshall fitting into the offense? Is he primarily a 2 or 3?

I really liked what I saw today, I'm going to post a write up tomorrow about it. I think this team has serious potential if things fall into place

I think the three in a three guard offense if he's in - kind of like what we ran when we had Morrissey at the three.

Tomorrow? Doh! No mention of Brooks or DJ in any post. I know they're not new, but it'd be interesting to see how they matched up vs. newbies.

DJ didn't do anything special but I though Brooks played with a lot more freedom, in a good way. I really think Cornley breathing down his neck was hurting Brook's development.
