Which basically means we have at least two opportunities to end Minnesota's NCAA hopes. Let's hope they're ruined in Minnesota.
Illinois has been playing as well as anyone in the Big Ten since they went younger against us. They have had a very strange season.
I wouldn't say we have ANY favorable match-ups vs a league opponent on a neutral floor. But at the same time, if we play our A game for 40 minutes we could beat each and every single team in this league.
I'm not super concerned with who we have to face in comparison to my concern for how PSU will play. This program doesn't have a great history in the BTT and I'd be really happy to see that trend change.
I wouldn't mind getting Illinois again, I think it's really hard to beat a relatively similar team 3 times in the same season, and we are easily as good as Illinois in my opinion. I'd sort of like to beat them just to prove that we can after laying two eggs against them.
Be careful what you ask for with the Illini. They're playing some of the best ball in the league right now…holding their last four opponents to under fifty points, including Sparty at Sparty this past weekend.
I agree this is very rare...the first time I ever saw anything like this too and I watch hundreds of games a year. I wasn't hinting that anything needs changed, but all it takes is one crazed individual like this kid, to do something stupid. What amazed me was how quickly he was on the court, coming from a seat that was nowhere near courtside.
Just saw a video of it and I think you're right. He not only got on the floor easily, he left on his own and got all the way back to his seat up in the stands before anyone even confronted him.
Probably need to do better than that!
Williams said for a normal Gauchos game there are three security guards who walk the arena and there should be one at each of the aisles on the corners of the arena. He said there are normally eight security staffers at home games.
But the arena had recently been used as a storm shelter and was not under normal operation, Williams said. The Gauchos were not even in their normal locker room.
"There was disarray," he said. "They had a lot of stuff going on, and then this happened. It was a hectic type of day. Luckily no one got hurt."
I got a notice on my iPhone from my ESPN ScoreCenter App...QuoteNo.11 seed Penn State shocks top-seeded Ohio State, 99-82, in BIG TEN women's tourney quarterfinal
Got the same alert & misinformed all the guys at our local Elks Club.
I would love to see a PSU game in the Giant Center every year but I don't think it will happen. Speaking of the Harrisburg area, I found the comments of a caller to the Patriot News fan line in todays paper disturbing. The caller mentioned that on Sunday local radio station 1400 AM dropped the PSU hoops game at halftime. Then on Tuesday they dropped the men's basketball coaches show halfway through, both times in favor of Phillies exhibition baseball games!
The same fanline where someone wanted to know if the team was going to stop by Lake Michigan to see if they were able to throw a ball into it...
If the team wants to play, then, why not?
Is the final still two out of three??................that's a bit much!!
