[Kendrick] Perry and Penn State's Tim Frazier were arguably the top two athletes at the 2014 PIT

Perry (Youngstown State) is the kid I have been praising from the last couple of Pgh summer leagues!

I just don't put a lot of trust in those JuCo stats

I think it is safe to say coaches recruit with their "eyeballs!!!!!!"

The weather is almost perfect today.  Traffic is as backed up as I've ever seen for a Blue/White game.  They are almost assuredly going to set a record today (particularly since it's an "eyeball" attendance figure and they can pretty much name whatever they want).
I've attended many Spring Games. I've almost always thought management "over" estimated eyeball attendance..............EXCEPT for yesterday. I think the estimate was quite a bit "under." I would have guessed 80,000.
Beautiful day for a "feel good" PSU visit.

P.S.  The basketball team autograph tent was a good idea!

Bad news for the accountants is that the two biggest draws, MSU and Indiana, won't be visiting the BJC.
I hope that Maryland becomes our biggest draw.

PSU could use a "rival."  Hope Maryland or Rutgers work out!

In the old days Vincennes was a national hoop powerhouse.  Think Bob McAdoo!

That comment by Pat had to have had something to do with this.

Chicken and the egg...............How do we know what came first?

Portsmouth is a great opportunity!  "Eyeball" scouting at it's best!

My 2 cents:
I think the "union" ruling is GREAT for college age athletes!  It's going to take a good bit of time for the benefits to develop.  The establishment will stonewall...............BUT with time changes will develop.
Remember when tennis players were blocked from being professional??  Remember when MLB, the NFL and the NBA didn't have unions??
College football will still survive. The rich establishments will still be rich BUT more rights and benefits will be given to the actual athletes!
In the future, I just hope universities have to pay taxes on their sports revenue!

P.S. The union ruling will have no effect on college tuitions....................they will still continue to rise, rise and rise!

I was student in packed Rec Hall in February 1974 when Ron Brown hit a buzzer beater to defeat Buzz Ridl's 7th-ranked Pitt team 66-64 and end Pitt's 22-game winning streak.

Let me know if Penn State Hoops lands that group insurance.  Medical bills are killin' me.   ;)
I was there too!  One of the few times Ron got the better of Billy Knight.

Count me in attendance also.  ~itt had an excellent team of homegrown Pgh. talent but Rec Hall was rockin that evening!

West Liberty lost in the title game to Central Missouri 84-77.
Game was very close and exciting. CM played a great 2nd half. They hit a high % of threes and played great defense. WL likes to dribble drive. BUT CM put up a wall at the 3 point line!

If it was such a crappy deal, then how come so many want it?

Are there ANY OTHER deals for a kid who wants to play football???????????  and train for the NFL Gzillions.
Maybe indoor football. Does the Arena league have a minimum age?

P.S. In the "old days" Pgh used to have a semi pro team (maybe a couple.) Don't know if they exist any longer.
