I don't know why Penn State wouldn't have a live stream up on gopsusports.com for this. But good to hear about Foster and Garner for sure.

Agreed!

Wanted to start a thread for the scrimmage. Back when I was traveling to SC more often the Blue - White Game was my FAVORITE game of the season!!
Hopefully we will get many "eyeball" reviews of the game!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another very good Q & A. That's three recently!
http://www.gopsusports.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/101414aac.html

This is going to be a very interesting year. We seem to be pretty deep 1-12. But alas the game is only played with 5 players at a time.
How do we match up 5 on 5 with the rest of the league??..........................I'm not sure. Time will tell.
Coaches going to earn their money this season dealing out PT!

a similar play went against PSU vs. OSU, but in that case the OSU receiver was ruled to have caught a pass that clearly bounced.  Can't remember if that was before or after replay, but assume it was before.

I remember a game at Beaver Stadium. I recall.............it was late game....... fourth down.......deep in their own territory.......  short pass to the TE. They continued on to drive for the winning score. LONGGGGGGGGGG  drive home to Pgh!!!!!!!!!!!
This would have been before replay!

In all, I thought the play was equal or maybe a little in PSU's favor. The fake punt changed the game and made it a "field position" 4th period NOT in our favor. Without the fake punt we have a good chance of winning.
Clock management was poor. Plus, a couple of calls at the worst time sure did not help. (Note: Some calls are MUCH more important than others!!!!!)
Every future game this season will be a struggle. I think we play 5 very close games!  Will be very interesting to see our offense in the last 6 games.   PSU will play hard the rest of the season. 3-3 is my guess.

Rock Chalk Jayhawk is cool because it's old and I believe it has some geological significance to the region as well (or that could be a myth).

That is GREAT interview.  Not just the same old PR bullcrap.  Very insightful and honest.

Indeed!

This is another example of what is meant when I say that the OOC oppontents do not matter.

A team that schedules a bunch of nobodies, but wins those games against pathetic teams, will still be highly ranked.  It doesn't matter if you schedule Kent State or LSU.

Who were you rooting for when Michigan was playing Rutgers?

Only team I rooted for yesterday was Virginia!!!!!!!!!!!
That's why I want Rutgers as a new rival!!!!!!!!    :)

There are SO MANY MORE transfer players in the present day game. Many do not need to sit out a year.
Just saying - - - - Be nice a have a ship available in the spring!!

he should hold the spot until the spring for a transfer, JUCO or whatever.

Makes sense!

FWIW the Bucs were 4th in the NL (15 teams) in runs scored. 9th from the lowest in runs scored against.

I figured we'd see a couple head scratcher games this year.  This is the low point roster from the sanctions, no?  And yet 8 wins are still very doable.  What I'm worried about is Hack finishing the season healthy.

Well said!

Maverick Rowan has re-opened his college recruiting. Rowan originally committed to Pitt before his soph year.

http://blogs.post-gazette.com/sports/varsity-blog/42407-rowan-opens-recruiting-harrell-commits-to-ipfw

The Rowans might be more trouble than they are worth, but young Rowan can shoot the eyes out of the basket. Of course, he'll also be a 20 yr old freshman if/when he enters college.

Rowan is a top talent! I'm sure everybody watched the 2014 PIAA Class A Championship game!

This has sure been an interesting and exciting year. I am very surprised of the high number of runs we have scored. 639 so far this season. We scored 634 all of last year.

I went to Morgantown for a game in 1980 (I think.)  The weather was SO BAD (very heavy rain) there was little fan interaction.
Been to a bunch of PSU games in Pgh................I find it hard to image a more difficult fan atmosphere for PSU folks!

Well yes, we can agree that Franklin has previously demonstrated a desire to soften the OOC schedule

My take on the rivalry issue:
Rutgers is entering a brave and very different new world. Looking at Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota and Wisconsin on the map may make an east coast person shake their head.
Having a "rival" within a few hours drive "makes a lot of sense!!!"  Particularly one that you have a history of playing. The recruiting angle with both schools competing for many players will help fuel the fires!
After PSU lost ~itt as a "rival" many PSU fans tried to push a tosu-PSU rivalry! I never thought this worked.
To me........a PSU- Rutgers rivalry sounds like a good idea for BOTH schools!!

Wow the first 3 PSU games have been wild and extremely stress filled. The Ireland travel was tough as well as the Rutgers away game!
We are quite fortunate to be 3-0.
NOW we have 2 home games and then a "bye" week. We could sure use a blow out win or two to help get things "settled!!" !

So far....so good,

Is it just me, or is it a little more than a coincidence that Penn State is granted this release from sanction on the VERY SAME WEEK that the rest of the league looked completely inept and embarrassing.
