I think everything would have to fall perfectly right for the Bucs to acquire Lester. That is having the Red Sox value a couple of guys the Bucs would be happy (maybe not publicly)
to move. I see this as a very long shot!
I think we end up with a bullpen guy.

My 2 cents is that they'll lift the sanctions as fast as they can because they know that they are indefensible.  By dropping them now they can remove some media spotlight and make the lawsuits against them seem petty and trivial.

2 more cents:
I hope all sanctions are dropped but I don't think they will be................... I think the NCAA is very image oriented.  They think they believe their actions against tosu, So Cal and PSU are perceived as "good/strong national images."  Miami and NC issues are "bad national images."  tosu and So Cal actions are mostly forgotten.  I think they want the words "PSU and sanctions" mentioned in the news long and often for the next couple of years! Alas, PSU is their current poster child for their enforcement power, which is under attack on many fronts.

Get both scholarships and a bowl game back.

My 2 cents:
Wishful.................BUT I don't see them going that route. They would lose too much face. Plus, I believe they want to drag this out as long as they can to try to show how "really concerned" they are! It's their landmark enforcement and they want to milk every possible minute out of it!

I visited an on campus OU store about 25 years ago. I remember being surprised at the large number of T-Shirts discussing the OU-UT game!
Seemed like a true rivalry!!

Kinda stinks for Bucknell if we are their "big" game on the home schedule and it comes over thanksgiving break.

The game will still be a sellout! In fact BU will be allowing their hoops season ticket holders to buy up to 4 more tickets to the PSU game before those tickets go on sale to the general public.

Someone remind me WHY we are playing AT Bucknell????

Confused,

He's been blowing up the last few weeks since his performance here. Iowa and Nebraska want him.

I compare him to a young Kevin Love!

Some video of Sehic.

I think it's a good video!  Looks like a quality player to me. Great outlet passer!

The rest are from PA or somewhere along the I95 corridor from northern VA to NYC.  That's something new to me as far as our team and I think that is a very good thing going forward if we can keep that momentum going.

Agree!  PSU is a perfect location for a hoop program!

I think our HC should get bonuses per "cupcake" scheduled!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Scheduling wisely is an important job requirement for a coach attempting to build a program!

Works for me,

I'm guessing a lot of football players also played basketball way back when Lar was a kid.  Some probably played in the NFL.

I was at PSU early 70s. I don't remember any football players on the hoop team during those years.

P.S. Has there ever been an NBA player who played college football and NOT college hoops??

Best team in the tournament won. This was a very exciting well played match. But Germany just pushed harder and played faster in the last 40 minutes or so. They desired to win.
Probably could have picked several good choices for Golden Ball Award (MVP.) Messi won but I thought Mascherano (an old Liverpool guy) was better for Argentina. Lahm, Hummels, Schweinsteiger or Muller would have been good choices for Germany.

Wow, what a stinker 2nd semi!
Squads should have just bypassed the 120 minutes or so of play and just started with the PKs!

Loved the match.....................but ...then I love blow outs...................when my team wins, that is!!!!
At the 15-20 minute mark, when Brasil was dominating the play, I commented that "they better score."  I just thought if they didn't score they would wear out and then get hurt at the defensive end. Did they ever!

Very enjoyable WC so far. BUT, I have a question................
WHY have the starting times been set for Noon and 4:00 p.m. EST??    In Brasil the times are 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
In the good old US, TV money trumps all when it comes to starting times.  These do not seem great starting times for the North and South American markets. No "prime time" games!
Could it be because of the Euro markets? The 4:00 EST start time would be 9:00 and 10:00 in Europe.
Also could safety be a factor for the daytime starts??
Please advise!

P.S. By the way, I love the daytime starts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  But then again I like noon PSU football starts and an all daytime World Series.

My thoughts - - Where are we now??  Combination of "stat" and "eyeball" thoughts!

Next WC will be in 4 years. Tomorrow "stats" and "game results" will be yesterday's news. The players and manager will remain tomorrow's news.
My eyeballs saw 2 very good USA players. Dempsey and Howard. Bradley may not have had a good WC but I think he is a quality player. What will the quality of our players be in 4 years? I'm not sure. But, I think we will be better over all.
I saw 4 matches.
Ghana had the advantage of play.  USA had the advantage of play against Portugal. Germany and Belgium had the advantage of play. We were 1-2-1 in WC play against a VERY strong schedule.
I like the Manager. I think he will move USA forward by making US more like the rest of the world. Also he seems to be able to recruit USA Euros!
USA was very strong in qualifying play!
While people have been saying this for 40 years SOCCER IS BECOMING MORE PROMINATE IN THE US every year! More and more quality athletes are picking soccer as their primary sport. By large population figures alone we will be developing more and more quality players.
Conclusion - -  USA is coming forward....................How long will it take is the question.

so let me get this straight

The teams score a TOTAL of 3 goals in the extra period.  After all the celebrations that goes on after those 3(THREE) goals, the officials decide to add only 1(ONE) minute of extra time?

WTF ?!?!?   >:(

Extra time was in 2 15 minute periods. Belgium scored twice (I think) in the first period. Much celebration. I think there was 3 minutes of stoppage in that period. In the 2nd extra period USA scored. I don't remember much celebration for the USA goal!  One minute of stoppage.
