Shaler received the top seed in the WPIAL AAAA draw. (But beware of #2 seed Char Valley.)
In a surprise, Beaver Falls received the #2 seed in AA. Monessen was top seed in AA.

If the seeds hold (and I know the chances of that happening), Shaler will meet Central Dauphin and Devin Thomas in the state semi-finals.

Yes that is a surprise about Beaver Falls since Beaver Falls ascends to top spot in Patriot-News' latest Class AA state-wide rankings.

Akosa seems to be the forgotten commitment.  No stats available.  No mention of him in the Boston area papers that I could find.  Nobody on here who has seen him play and can give us an eyeball review.  I hope he is just flying under the radar and comes in next year and surprises on the upside.

I was watching some of Akosa's game film.  Physically he reminds me of a big NFL WR. Strong and with springs for legs.

Didn't he have a bad knee?

Did he play this season?

Akosa is forgotten just because there's no easily accessible info on his season like there is for Taylor and Thorpe.

Eric rocks!

Actually the only commit is Taylor since he signed a LOI, the rest are recruits.

In the recruiting vernacular, a verbal commitment makes the kid a commit.   When he signs his LOI, he becomes a signee.

Geno scores 22 in 50 - 47 play-off victory over McKeesport. FWIW I saw McKeesport earlier in the season and was not impressed. But, a win is a win.
In other big AAAA news, Butler upset 2nd seed Chartiers Valley. Char Valley was thought to be Shaler's top competition!

Tonight, Brandon Austin and Imhotep Charter take on Delaware Valley Charter for a spot in the state playoffs. They played back in December 16th, Imhotep won 54-43 and Brandon Austin scored 14 then.

That game was so last year though.
